It’s a simpler life down ‘ere… and that informed how Richard Burt and his wife Linda set about making lush snacks. All we need are great quality potatoes, oil, and delicious seasoning (and maybe a smidge of elbow grease, craft, and passion of some pretty hard-working folk).
It ain’t rocket science… but we always aim high. That’s why you can taste the difference in every crunch.
Who puts the names of the potato farmer and the master fryer on their bags? We do!
It’s ‘cos we want to celebrate the craft and authenticity. It’s why we also fry in small batches, not because we don’t like hard work (quite the opposite).
We just want to make sure that every batch of hearty crunchiness is seasoned with quality and craft. We do other seasonings too… but we’ll come to those later.

Great taste travels. Burts wins several national awards including the Great Taste and Taste of the West awards… lush.
We outgrew the Kingsbridge production plant and moved down to a new site in Plymouth… must be somethin’ in the soil!
We create a match made in Devon when we unveil Guinness potato chips.
We love a tractor… especially red ones. Burts become the first hand-cooked chip company to be Red Tractor potato assured.
All at sea! Burts are proud to announce a partnership with the RNLI charity to fundraise and support the work they do.
